Line the wage day up with the electricity and the water
When the provincial electricity slip and the water slip land in the same week as rent, the wage day has to be written down before the slips do.
Start from the day the money arrives
Most arguments about bills in a Tak Bai household begin one step too late. The slips are already on the shelf, the due dates are already close, and only then does someone ask whether Friday’s wage can carry all of them. The quieter method is to write the income days first, in ink, and let the bills stand in a row underneath.
A wage every Friday is a different shape from a market taking on Sunday, and both are different from a pension that arrives on the first of the month. If two of those are present in one house, write both. A bill plan that assumes a single salary will mis-time a house that lives on two rhythms.
Give the heavy slips a place
Electricity from the provincial supply and the local water slip are the pair that most often collide with rent. Look at two months, not one. Due dates drift by a day or two, and a plan built on a single slip will be surprised in the second month.
If the wage arrives on Friday and the electricity counter closes on Thursday, the money for that bill has to be taken from the previous Friday and kept aside. That is a dull instruction. It is also the one that stops a household from paying a reconnection later.
Keep that set-aside amount in a separate envelope, not in the rice money. The envelope can sit in the same drawer. The point is that market shopping does not quietly spend the electricity amount on a Wednesday.
What to do with a bill that can move
Some payments have a window rather than a single morning. A landlord who collects any time in the first week is not the same pressure as a motorcycle installment with a stated date and a penalty. Write the window as a window. Do not pretend every bill is an emergency on the same morning.
Once the immovable dates are placed on the income days, the windows fill the gaps. Rent, if the landlord is flexible inside a week, often belongs after the electricity, not before it. That order is a household decision. The paper only makes the choice visible.
